Meet the guitarist

Hi, I’m Sam.

I've been chasing the sound of old strings and worn-out records for as long as I can remember.

Influenced by the greats — Joe Pass, Herb Ellis, Django Reinhardt and Benny Goodman — I play jazz guitar across Melbourne as a soloist and with several ensembles.

My playing moves between the detail of solo guitar, the energy of French swing and the conversation of a small ensemble. Those sounds run through the projects and performances collected here.
